The syllabus is the first opportunity instructors have to set the tone and give students an impression of their course. In this session, Dartmouth's ACLS Emerging Voices Fellow, Bayo Oluwayomi, will facilitate a discussion forum about practical strategies on inclusive syllabus design.

This event will help instructors/faculty:

  • Design a syllabus that demonstrates teaching styles, values, and the instructor’s commitment to meet the learning needs of each student enrolled in the course.
  • Center the syllabus around equity and inclusivity, to represent the diversity of students in contemporary classrooms, and contribute to overall student success in their courses.
  • Examine issues around the necessity of an inclusive syllabus, equitable and creative grading practices, comprehensive course schedule, and inclusive learning activities.

This discussion will take place on Zoom. Please register.
