Description:  This presentation will 1) provide a detailed review of the genesis, development, and functions of the osteoblast lineage of cells in the skeleton, 2) present the role of dysfunctional osteoblastic activity in a variety of non-neoplastic diseases, and 3) illustrate the different types of osteoblastic neoplasms and their associated genetic aberrations.

Bio:  Andrew E. Rosenberg M.D. is Professor of Pathology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.  He is a surgical pathologist subspecialized in bone and soft tissue pathology at the University of Miami Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital which have large sarcoma programs.  His administrative duties in the department includes Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs, Director of Anatomic Pathology, Director of Quality Assurance, and Director of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology. His research interests are in diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
