Dr. Malaney received her Ph.D. from the University of South Florida where she studied mechanisms of inactivation of the tumor suppressor gene, PTEN. She then completed her postdoctoral studies at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she started exploring the role that RNA-binding proteins have in cancer pathogenesis. She started her own lab at Dartmouth in March of 2023. Her lab focuses on the role of RNA-binding proteins and RNA processing in maintaining cellular homeostasis and how these processes go awry in cancer to establish a fundamental basis for therapeutic enquiry.
