Recital Series: Sally Pinkas and friends
Hop pianist-in-resident and chamber music friends present all three piano quartets by Brahms in two evenings.
Hop pianist-in-resident and chamber music friends present all three piano quartets by Brahms in two evenings.
Composed between 1857 and 1875, the three quartets mine the complex range of human emotion. Brahms' mastery of this genre is evident in the fiery Rondo alla Zingarese of Op. 25, the broadly lyrical Op. 26 and the darkly dramatic Op. 60. In Schubert's String Trio, one gleans the profound effect he has had on the younger composer.
Pinkas is here joined by consummate musicians Placci (violin), Brown (viola) and Rider (cello), her partners from New York's Music From Salem Festival.
