We will have a special seminar led by the week’s colloquium speaker, Dr. Matt Caplan (Illinois State University). Matt will give us an informal introduction on how to turn scientific ideas into engaging narratives for a broad audience.

Matt has extensive experience in science communication, working as a writer and consultant for major YouTube channels such as Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell and PBS Space Time, with writing credits on nearly 100 videos viewed over a billion times.

This session is open to all students, graduate students, and researchers interested in learning more about how to communicate science effectively — and it will be a great preview for Matt’s colloquium later in the week!
