Dartmouth is holding its 25th Annual Neuroscience Day on Friday, February 11 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event provides an opportunity to meet Dartmouth’s neuroscientists and learn more about the research studies they conduct. Dartmouth’s faculty, postdoctoral researchers, house staff, graduate, and undergraduate students are presenting their studies in a poster session in the morning and oral presentations in the afternoon, and awards will be given to undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral presentations.

The program also features a Keynote Lecture by Phil Skolnick, PhD, Director of the Division of Pharmacotherapies and Medical Consequences of Drug Abuse at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and a Neurology Grand Rounds by Gary Yellen, PhD, Director of Harvard Medical School’s PhD program in neuroscience.

Dr. Skolnick’s lecture “Developing Medications to Treat Addictions: Pitfalls and Promises” will take place at noon, and Dr. Yellen’s lecture “Reverse Engineering a Dietary Therapy for Epilepsy:  Exploring Metabolism and Excitability” will take place at 4:00 p.m.  The event is being held in Auditoriums E-F at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.  A complete schedule and further information about the event and speakers is available online.
