Portraits of Leadership: 2011 Student Marshals

Each year, Student Marshals are carefully selected by fellow students for their citizenship, enthusiasm, positive impact on others, and integrity of character. The marshals lead their classmates during Commencement’s academic procession onto the Green, carrying batons engraved with their names.

College photographer Joseph Mehling ’69 turned his lens on this year’s nine undergraduate and eight advanced degree recipients, who each chose a favorite campus location for the portrait. Office of Public Affairs Whitney Campbell Intern Lauren Dowling ’11 asked the graduates to reflect on their Dartmouth experiences.
