“What an amazing time to be a faculty member,” says humanities scholar Cathy Davidson. Davidson, a Duke University professor, noted author, and innovator, who recently came to Dartmouth to speak with faculty and staff involved in the strategic planning process, and to deliver a public lecture.

 

In this video, recorded during her January 2012 visit, Davidson points out that the majority of undergraduate students at Dartmouth have no memory of a world without the Internet. She considers the implications that students’ pre-existing digital lives and habits have on what and how they learn in higher education. She also praises Dartmouth for taking a leadership role on that front and offers her advice on how to be prepared for whatever changes the next 20 years bring.
