Here’s Dartmouth’s 2012 Commencement by the numbers: from over 1,700 degrees awarded to over 12,000 attendees expected.

Where seniors come from:

The undergraduate Class of 2012 hails from 48 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The most represented states are New York, California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Connecticut. International students come from 48 countries. The most represented are the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, and Canada.

Most popular majors for the Class of 2012:

The most popular majors are Economics, Government, Psychological and Brain Sciences, Biological Sciences, History, Engineering Sciences, and English.

Valedictorians and Salutatorians:

The valedictorians are: Wills Begor of Wilton, Conn.; Glynnis Kearney of Princeton, N.J.; David Rogg of East Greenwich, R.I.; and Jie Zhong of Shanghai, China. Each student earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

The salutatorians are: Blakeley Brown of Williamsburg, Va.; Jonathan Erdman of Niantic, Conn; Elizabeth Faiella of Northwood, N.H.; and Patrick Martin of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Phi Beta Kappa:

The Alpha of New Hampshire Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Dartmouth College will induct 127 undergraduates as new members in ceremonies to be held Saturday, June 9.
