Yo-Yo Ma and Alvin Ailey Part of Dartmouth’s Culture Celebration (The New York Times)

As The New York Times reports, programming for the celebration will begin in September, and will feature Yo-Yo Ma, John Lithgow, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, an exhibition of Aboriginal art, a film festival, and an opera by filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and composer Phil Kline.

The Times also notes that the 2012-13 academic year will include the inauguration of Dartmouth’s new Arts District, comprising of the Black Family Visual Arts Center, the Hood Museum of Art, and the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
