[[{“type”:“media”,“view_mode”:“media_large”,“fid”:null,“attributes”:{“class”:“media-image alignright size-full wp-image-2569”,“typeof”:“foaf:Image”,“style”:“”,“width”:“100”,“height”:“100”,“alt”:“Valley News”}}]]Cynthia Huntington, a professor of English and creative writing at Dartmouth, spoke to the Valley News about her most recent book of poetry, Heavenly Bodies, which is a finalist for the prestigious National Book Award.

In an interview with the Valley News, Huntington, the author of five books and New Hampshire’s 2004 and 2005 poet laureate, says of her nomination, “Basically, the whole story here is ‘Yay!’”

“Heavenly Bodies is narrated by a range of characters, all of whom share a piece of Huntington’s experience but are otherwise fictional,” writes the Valley News’ Alex Hanson. “She situates her narrators in their own stories and in the ebb and flow of the times they’re living through. The body, the nerve endings that gather human experience, takes it all in, for good and for ill.”
