“For much of America, Thursday might as well be renamed Shondaday in recognition of the TV savant’s prime-time conquest,” writes the Los Angeles Times in a story about Shonda Rhimes ’91, who, starting on September 25, will have three of her ABC dramas airing back-to-back-to-back on Thursday nights.

Joining Rhimes’ Greys Anatomy and Scandal on the Thursday lineup is the new series, How to Get Away With Murder. “We pride ourselves on strong, creative voices, and there’s no voice in television as powerful right now as Shonda Rhimes’ voice,” ABC’s entertainment president Paul Lee tells the newspaper.

“A Dartmouth graduate, she was—and still is—a bookworm who had ambitions of being the next Toni Morrison,” notes the Times.
