Forget Trump; Ponder This (‘U.S. News & World Report’)

He promised himself he wouldn’t write about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, writes Dartmouth economist Charles Wheelan in an opinion piece in U.S. News & World Report. Instead, he presents what he calls a “no Trump” column.

“These are numbers I have come across in my writing and teaching that really should not be ignored,” writes Wheelan, a senior lecturer in economics. “None has an obvious policy solution, but each screams out for some kind of action, or at least acknowledgement. I’m going to avoid editorial comment (to the extent I can help myself). The whole point of the ‘no Trump’ approach is to let the facts speak for themselves.”
