Whatever the future holds for Matt Klentak ’02 as general manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, his next two decisions are important—but they should be relatively easy ones, reports Rant Sports.

“He will get the first pick in the June 2016 MLB draft and, before that, the first pick in the Rule 5 draft. That will be held at the December baseball winter meetings in Nashville. … Klentak will have to do at least as well with the first pick this year. With a number of top organizations investing in minor league talent more than ever, there will be some Herrera-types who cannot be protected. Klentak will have to do some homework, but he must find the right fit,” writes the website.

“It’s a long way from his playing days at Dartmouth, but getting a hit on these next two plate appearances will determine whether Klentak is a star or just another front office bean counter,” Rant Sports writes.
