“Maybe that’s not very satisfying from a public relations perspective, but it’s good to know that there’s a grown-up in the conversation,” says Dartmouth’s Daniel Benjamin in a New York Times story about President Barack Obama’s attempts to reassure a skeptical American public about the fight against ISIS.

Benjamin is director of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding and a former coordinator for counterterrorism at the U.S. State Department.
