President Philip J. Hanlon ’77 will join Rabbi Moshe Gray and Professor Susannah Heschel at a panel discussion set for Monday on anti-Semitism, its history, and its dangers.

The event , which is open to the public, will begin at 5:15 p.m. in Paganucci Lounge in the Class of 1953 Commons dining facility.

The panel is being held in the wake of the Oct. 27 massacre in which 11 people worshipping at the Tree of Life synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh were killed and six others were wounded. A Pennsylvania man investigators say espoused hatred of Jewish people and other bigotry in his online postings is being held in connection with the killings and has been charged with a number of federal crimes, including hate crimes.

Monday’s event is sponsored by the Jewish Studies Program. Heschel, who holds the Eli Black Professorship of Jewish Studies, is the program’s chair. Gray is executive director of Chabad at Dartmouth.
