The redesigned Dartmouth home site has received three top web design awards from MUSE, an international digital and graphic design trade association.

The home site, which includes the Dartmouth.edu home page and the Dartmouth News site, won gold in the diversity and inclusion category, gold in the education category, and the highest honor of platinum in the universities category.

“This recognition for exceptional achievement in creativity and design in digital media is a testament to the outstanding efforts by our working group in communications, web services, and conferences and events, our partnership with Information, Technology, and Consulting, and the vital input provided by faculty, staff, and students,” says Justin Anderson, vice president for communications.

The new site was launched in July after an 18-month redesign project led by executive sponsors from across the institution in coordination with the working group and the outside design firm Third and Grove.

Traffic to the home site accounts for about 30% of the nearly 36 million page views of Dartmouth web properties each year. The redesign included the integration of Dartmouth News, which had been a separate website.

"The MUSE awards are a sought-after international recognition for outstanding achievement in creativity and design in digital media,” says Justin Emond, CEO of Third and Grove. “To win three awards for one site at the same time is a remarkable achievement, one that the entire Dartmouth team and community should be very proud of.”
