The Safety and Security office released the 2021 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, known as the Clery report, on the Dartmouth Annual Security Report website today.

“Promoting a safe and secure campus environment is an institutional endeavor,” wrote Director of Safety and Security Keiselim Montás in an Oct. 1 email to the community.

This year’s report also amends some of the statistics provided for 2019 and 2018 based on a “proactive assessment and review of our compliance program” that identified Dartmouth as having two separate campuses, one in Hanover and one in Lebanon, Montás said.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, also called the Clery Act, is a federal law that requires, by Oct. 1 each year, colleges and universities to distribute to all students and employees a report containing statistics on fires in residential buildings and on certain crimes that have occurred on or close to campus, safety information, and available resources for crime victims.

“This report reflects how Dartmouth, and our community are working collaboratively to prevent crime and to enhance the overall safety and security of the campus,” Montás said.
