As classes resume this week, Interim Provost David Kotz ’86 and Executive Vice President Rick Mills—leaders of Dartmouth’s COVID-19 response—provide an update on the latest COVID-19 policy changes.

In a conversation recorded Tuesday, Kotz and Mills emphasize that Dartmouth’s goals for the term are unchanged, even as the community prepares to weather the omicron variant. Those goals: to provide an in-person student residential experience to the extent possible while maintaining the physical and mental health of the community.

Keeping these priorities in balance will take the cooperation of all students, faculty, and staff, Kotz says. “We’re asking everyone to be prudent, use their judgment, and allow us all to retain that in-person academic experience.”
