News subtitle

The theater department’s production takes audiences back to 1989.

The Department of Theater’s production of Rent takes audiences to the East Village of New York City in the late 1980s. Olivia Shortt, Guarini ’23, discusses working in the costume shop and repurposing existing pieces for the show.

“I have seen so many names of actors who are going to be on set, and I know what I’ve done to each of the pieces that they’re wearing,” says Shortt. “It has its own very subtle storytelling.”

Performances will run through Feb. 27. Learn more here, and also enjoy a photo gallery of the Moore Theater production.
