Dartmouth has begun a search for its next chief human resources officer, Executive Vice President Rick Mills has announced.

Mills calls the search “an opportunity to reaffirm our values and our commitment to Dartmouth’s staff and faculty.”

Senior Vice President and Senior Diversity Officer Shontay Delalue, who is chairing the search committee, says the committee is looking for someone who demonstrates a high level of expertise and emotional intelligence and who has experience driving change in an organization as large and complex as Dartmouth.

“We seek a leader who can partner with others on campus to create a bold vision for the future of work and build a culture of inclusion where Dartmouth is an employer of choice,” Delalue says. “This is an exciting time to join the Dartmouth community.”

Reporting to Mills, the chief human resources officer serves as a close adviser to senior leaders throughout the institution and oversees the Office of Human Resources, which manages the recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance assessment, training, and labor relations needs of Dartmouth’s robust workforce of more than 1,000 faculty and 3,000 staff members, including 450 unionized workers.

Dartmouth has engaged the national search firm Russell Reynolds Associates to support the work of the committee in conducting a comprehensive national search. Candidate ideas can be sent to DartmouthCHRO@russellreynolds.com.

In addition to Delalue, the search committee members are:
