Winterim economics trip offers a look into responses to major market disruptions.
Dartmouth’s Transportation Services, working with the Sustainability Office, has launched a pilot program involving four electric vehicle chargers that rely exclusively on solar power.
The goal is to make Dartmouth’s transportation systems more sustainable and lower the carbon emissions involved in commutes.
Four employees won a lottery to use the chargers this year, including math professor Sergi Elizalde, who calls it an opportunity to “plug their electric cars into the sun.”
The chargers, from Norwich, Vt.-based Solaflect Energy, are based in the Maynard Lot.
