More than 170 staff members, family, and friends gathered in the Hanover Inn Grand Ballroom on Dec. 16 for the annual service awards celebration, a longtime Dartmouth tradition.
Throughout the evening, honorees and their guests mingled over drinks and appetizers, shared stories and laughs, and posed for group photos to celebrate staff members with milestone anniversaries.
President Sian Leah Beilock and Chief Human Resources Officer Sara Lester congratulated the employees on their anniversaries and highlighted their essential roles in fulfilling Dartmouth’s mission.
“Every interaction with our students, our faculty, our alumni, our parents, every event has been touched by staff, ” President Beilock said.
Climate and sustainability efforts, Homecoming and reunions, an ambitious housing agenda, and events such as the symposium with the United Nations Development Programme on youth mental health and Dartmouth Dialogues programs, attended by 15, 000 people this year, are just a few examples, Beilock said.
“Thank you for everything you do for Dartmouth, for our students who are going to go out and lead this country and the world, and for our faculty who produce knowledge that’s changing how we think,” she said. “Thank you for making it all possible.”
Lester said it is the staff’s collective efforts that create an environment where students can learn, grow, and succeed.
“Whether your role is in facilities, athletics, IT, or anything in between, your contributions are meaningful and are appreciated by every member of our community,” she said.
Each of the staff honorees receive a gift, certificate, and commemorative lapel pin.
