In January, Department of Earth Sciences Research Scientist Justin Stroup, Guarini ’15, led a team of student researchers to Dartmouth’s Second College Grant to collect sediment samples from Hellgate Pond.

The sediment collected from “coring” the pond may provide clues about how the landscape changed from deglaciation more than 10,000 years ago.

The project is part of the Dartmouth Climate Collaborative’s Dartmouth As Living Lab initiative.
