Join us on October 22nd for the inaugural event of this year's Breaking the Mold. Breaking the Mold is a 2-day conference sponsored by the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact (DCSI) that seeks to provide information and alumni networking opportunities for students interested in exploring or pursuing careers for the common good.

During this dinner and keynote event, participants will have the opportunity to interact with distinguished alumni and learn about what working towards the common good means to them. 

A keynote will be delivered by Jim Bildner, Class of 1975. Mr. Bildner is a nationally recognized lecturer, panelist, speaker, and thought leader on nonprofit organizations, social enterprise, capitalization, and the institutional role of philanthropy in solving complex societal issues. He is the CEO of the Draper Richards Kaplan (DRK) Foundation, a leading global venture philanthropy firm that finds, funds, and supports social impact organizations working to address some of society’s most pressing social and environmental challenges. Mr. Bilder sits on numerous boards and is also an Adjunct Faculty member at the Harvard Kennedy School. He will also speak to his newest book, A Matter of Hope: Lessons Learned from Leaders, Changemakers, and Visionaries on Making a Difference in the World, published in September 2026.

A buffet dinner will be served for all registered participants. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available. 

The required dress code is Business Casual.

If you have RSVPed but can no longer attend, please email Sai Waters at sai.waters@dartmouth.edu by Monday, October 19th so that we can offer your seat to a student on the waitlist. Students who do not cancel by the deadline and do not attend the event will be charged $50 to their DASH account to cover the cost of catering. 

Slots are limited and registration will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. As this is a career focused event, priority for registration will be given to seniors.
