Big Green athletes have participated in Summer Olympics going back to the 1908 London Games, competing primarily in track and field in the earlier era with a growing presence in rowing starting in the 1970s and in soccer, equestrian, kayaking, and rugby after 2000. 

Dartmouth Summer Olympic athletes have brought home six gold, nine silver, and five bronze medals since 1908.

The opening ceremonies are on July 26, and the Paris Olympics end on Aug. 11.
