Jessica’s debut book, “It’s Always Been Ours  Re-writing the Stories of Black Women’s Bodies” addresses the reality that the stories and experiences of Black Women have been long absent from discourse on eating disorders, diet culture, health and wellness. Jessica identifies the relationship between Anti-Blackness and Anti-Fatness and names racism as an underpinning of weight bias while looking to amplify, uplift and celebrate the stories and experiences of Black Women.
