This inventive reconstruction of SNL's opening night is a ticking-clock comedy-thriller with a stellar ensemble cast, including Rachel Sennott, Finn Wolfhard and Willem Dafoe.

It's backstage at 30 Rockefeller Center, and the clock is ticking. Two young TV producers, Lorne Michaels (Gabriel Labelle, The Fabelmans) and Dick Ebersol (Cooper Hoffman, Licorice Pizza), are attempting something new: live sketch comedy, broadcast to the world. With vulnerable egos, a corporate overlord (Willem Dafoe) and a cranky production team to contend with, will the show go on?

Writer-director Jason Reitman (Up in the Air, Juno) reconstructs SNL's opening night in this inventive, dream-like comedy-thriller, unfolding in real time. The film's ensemble cast is as up-and-coming as Belushi, Radner, Chase and Aykroyd were back in 1975, and includes Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Rachel Sennott (Bottoms), Nicholas Braun (Succession) and Cory Michael Smith (May December). With Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary just around the corner, it's the perfect time to revisit this crazy night when it all began. Courtesy of Sony Pictures Entertainment
