This winter, the Leslie Center for the Humanities will sponsor a series of readings on Translation and Literature with Eugene Ostashevsky, Jon Cho-Polizzi and Zhenia Dubrova ('24)

Jon Cho-Polizzi

Tuesday, Feb. 6, reading at 7pm, Norwich Bookstore, VT

Jon Cho-Polizzi is a literary translator and Assistant Professor of German at the University of Michigan, where he is also affiliated with the Department of Comparative Literature. As a literary scholar and translator, Jon works to highlight the many underrepresented voices in contemporary German-language literature, endeavoring to complicate and expand prevailing assumptions about and the reception of German literature in the English-speaking world. His translations of Max Czollek's De-Integrate: A Jewish Survival Guide for the 21st Century and Sharon Dodua Otoo's Ada's Room were published in 2023, and he co-edited and translated for the 2022 English-language edition of Fatma Aydemir and Hengameh Yaghoobifarah's collected volume Your Homeland is Our Nightmare: An Antifascist Essay Collection.

A shuttle will be available to and from the Norwich Bookstore for this event. The shuttle will leave from Dartmouth Hall at 6:00 pm, and will return to campus for a second trip if needed.
