Join Roth scholar and visionary artist Basil Twist for an exploration of his creative uses of puppetry in theater, opera, film and beyond.

From the tuna monster from the Broadway show Oh, Hello to the haunting dementors from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, puppeteer Basil Twist has brought numerous characters to life on stage and screen.

This event will weave together clips of the master artist's work in opera, theater, cabaret and film, interspersed with conversation between Basil Twist and the Hop's own Michael Bodel. The evening promises to explore how fabric underwater in Symphonie Fantastique and large opera setpieces might also come to life with a puppetry approach, and take us behind the scenes of Basil's latest projects.

This event is free and unticketed.
