Accidental Historian: Unraveling My Mother's Holocaust Story
When Heidi Fishman set out to write her mother’s Holocaust story, she never imagined the journey would take her across continents to uncover long-lost truths.
When Heidi Fishman set out to write her mother’s story of surviving the Holocaust she had no idea how challenging it would be. She thought she could depend on her mother’s memories, but Tutti Lichtenstern was only a child during the ordeal. Heidi soon found herself digging in archives at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, in the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, & Israel to piece together what truly happened to her family. Through interviews with survivors, historians, and family friends, she uncovered lost information, made new friends, & met international diplomats. Heidi invites you to come along with her as she recounts this journey.
