Dartmouth recognizes and celebrates its 778 administrative and support staff today as part of the national commemoration of Administrative Professionals Day.

“Administrative and support staff are critical to the success of the College,” said Dartmouth Chief Human Resources Officer Traci Nordberg, “and Administrative Professionals Day is just one part of a community effort to recognize and support the extraordinary work being done.”

Dartmouth’s commemoration includes a networking reception and an educational program, under the theme “The Power of Commitment.” Keynote speakers include Carla Kimball, presence specialist and public speaking coach, and Gabrielle Lucke, Dartmouth’s director of Diversity Training and Educational Programs. The event is organized by a planning committee of administrative and support staff from across the College. In addition to Administrative Professionals Day, staff committees also coordinate professional development events and activities for their peers throughout the year.

“I volunteered to be on the committee because over my years here at Dartmouth I have come to know quite a few other department personnel and establish a friendship among them” said Gregg Wildman, administrative assistant in the Office for Institutional Research and a member of the planning committee. “I feel that helping to add to, or further, their professional skills and boundaries is an excellent way to tell say ‘thank you’ for all their assistance over the years.”
