Dartmouth students and young alumni have accepted 16 major national scholarships that will support their undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the coming year. Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships will bring Dartmouth graduates into classrooms from Korea to Corsica; others will conduct research in fields as diverse as industrial archeology, epidemiology, earth sciences, and music history around the globe.
“This year was a great year for our students and alumni winning national scholarships, including for the third straight year a Beinecke Scholarship winner, another Mitchell winner, and the first Marshall Scholarship since 2005,” says Assistant Dean for Scholarship Advising Kristin O’Rourke. “Almost one-third of our Fulbright applicants have won a scholarship, and three-quarters of our DAAD applicants.” The overall Fulbright acceptance rate for U.S. applicants is about 20 percent.
