Prior to the Dartmouth vs. Sacred Heart football game at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, there will be a barbecue for Dartmouth students and the College community at Alpha Delta fraternity, located on East Wheelock Street across from the tennis courts.

“We want to promote school spirit and create a social atmosphere where people can get together and get excited for the football game,“ says Michael Lewis ’11, one of the event organizers and a member of Alpha Delta.

Beginning at 11 a.m., the event will feature a performance by the Dartmouth Aires a capella group, food for about 500 people, and soft drinks.

Lewis and Student Body President Eric Tanner ’11 have worked since spring term to organize the event. Lewis says they have received support for the idea from the Athletic Department, the President’s Office, Student Assembly, and the Greek life community. “We hope it can become a new Dartmouth tradition,” he says.

The barbecue is one of five planned events to be held at Greek organizations prior to home football games this year. For more information, contact Eric Tanner ’11.

Saturday is also faculty and staff appreciation day at the stadium; contact the Athletic Ticket Office at 603-646-2466 for details about special ticket prices and events.
