The 2010 Dartmouth United Way campaign has raised the largest total in its history. Pledges and gifts made near the end of the campaign, which ran from December 1 to February 14, have pushed the final fundraising achievement to $260,193. That figure surpasses both this year’s target of $225,000 and the previous Dartmouth United Way campaign record of $260,026 set in 2005. Nearly 600 donors contributed to this year’s fundraising drive.

“We are thrilled and grateful to receive such overwhelming support for our community in this difficult economic climate,” said Dana Hanson, director of resource development at Granite United Way-Upper Valley Region. “The unprecedented generosity of Dartmouth faculty and staff will impact the lives of thousands of our friends and neighbors. Thank you.”

Dartmouth has hosted campaigns for United Way for nearly 30 years. In 2009, more than 23,000 residents of the Upper Valley were helped by United Way partner agencies.
