That event and a subsequent tsunami have destroyed and damaged homes and other buildings, flooded communities, and taken lives. The full scope of the disaster is still unknown. Dartmouth College is aware of approximately 60 of its students and faculty members currently in Japan. Dartmouth staff have been in contact with those individuals, and are thankful to report all are safe. The thoughts of the Dartmouth community are with all those affected by this disaster.
