Don’t miss the sixth annual ArtWorks Festival, Wednesday, October 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Alumni Hall, featuring the creative talents of nearly 50 Dartmouth College employees.

ArtWorks presents more than 100 exhibits and performances, including paintings, photography, video, poetry, live music, and more. Myron McCoo, Vice President for Human Resources, calls the celebration “a reflection of why this is such a great place to work. It showcases the spirit, innovation, and creativity of Dartmouth employees.”  McCoo will speak at ArtWorks at 11:05 a.m. The full schedule of performances is posted online at the ArtWorks website. The event will be carried live on DarTV as well.

Since its establishment in 2006, ArtWorks has featured more than 500 exhibits and performances. Online galleries of previous ArtWorks shows are available at the program’s website as well.

“ArtWorks is a great opportunity to see what other workers do for a hobby,” says Wayne Claflin, a painter in the Facilities, Operations, and Management division who will be displaying his nature photography this year. Event chair (and participant) James Burger, the Office of Human Resources’ communications manager, points out that the pleasure of seeing and appreciating the creativity of your colleagues sometimes comes right back to work. “People have told me,” he says, “that having seen their co-workers’ artistic abilities, they were eager to collaborate with them on departmental projects.”
