Dr. Robert Gougelet has responded to disasters in places as far away as Haiti, but after Hurricane Irene’s visit to northern New England, he’s only going as far as Rochester, Vt.

Medical director of disaster response at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and an assistant professor of medicine at Dartmouth Medical School, Gougelet is also the director of the Northern New England Metropolitan Medical Response System. He has been helping small groups of medical workers in the area, including at a temporary clinic at the elementary school in Rochester, Vt.
