What is the best way to combat incorrect information that won’t go away? Create a graphic.
So reports the Nieman Journalism Lab website in an article covering a new paper written by Assistant Professor of Government Brendan Nyhan and a colleague. The paper, which is on “motivated reasoning and political misperception,” suggests that “graphics can provide a powerful, and perhaps essential, way of counteracting misinformation.”
