Speaking on WBUR’s Morning Edition on the day of the New Hampshire primary, professor of Government Linda Fowler affirmed that old-style “retail politics” are still alive and well in the state.

Fowler suggested that recent changes in the primary schedule and the large number of televised debates this year may have influenced how and when Granite State voters learned about the candidates. Even so, she said, New Hampshire voters continue to “make their minds up late,” and by doing so to have the power to remind candidates “not to take voters for granted.”
