Gates Foundation Report On Measuring Teacher Effectiveness Suggests Three-Pronged Approach (The Huffington Post)


A report authored by Douglas Staiger, John French Professor of Economics, and Thomas J. Kane, deputy director of research and data at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and professor of education and economics at the Harvard Graduate School of Education argues that teachers should be assessed based on a combination of classroom observations, student feedback, and value-added student achievement gains.

“Gathering Feedback for Teaching” is the second in a series of four reports detailing the work of the Measures of Effective Teaching project, sponsored by the Gates Foundation.
