What makes a great leader? How does leadership live in our own lives, and in our universities, businesses, organizations, and world communities? Dr. Lisa Adams, Dartmouth Medical School faculty member and head of Dartmouth’s Global Health Initiative, says it’s important to be a “leader who listens.” Leadership matters to global health because the complex challenges of health care delivery demand “leaders who can think in creative and innovative ways” to develop complex solutions. Dartmouth offers the opportunity, she says, to grow leadership skills by watching other effective leaders in action, including faculty who are at the front of their fields.
