Dartmouth senior Sophie Caldwell was recently honored by Ski Racing Magazine as the 2012 Collegiate Nordic Skier of the Year. The only female to finish on the podium in both races at the NCAA Championships last month, Caldwell wrapped up a terrific collegiate career by helping the Big Green place fourth nationally.

“This is a well deserved honor for Sophie and a great way to wind up her collegiate career,” said Dartmouth women’s Nordic Coach Cami Thompson Graves.

In total, Caldwell raced 13 times on the collegiate circuit this past year, and finished among the top three in all but one race. The two top-three finishes at the NCAA Championships garnered her All-America first-team honors in both events, and boosted her career total to five All-America honors—three on the first team and two more on the second team.
