Will Bunch, a senior writer at the Philadelphia Daily News, mentions work by Assistant Professor of Government Brendan Nyhan in a column about fact-checking statements made at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.

Nyhan says fact-checking should be a newspaper’s immediate focus, to prevent false impressions from taking root.

“This is about responsibility to the truth,” Nyhan says.

Nyhan, who also writes for the Columbia Journalism Review, has more to say about political fact checking in his latest column.
