The Huffington Post features the top 10 schools in a slideshow: they are, in order of ranking, Bowdoin College, Rice University, Dartmouth, Kansas State University, Claremont McKenna College, Virginia Tech, Barnard College, Agnes Scott College, Washington University in St. Louis, and Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. Not in the slideshow, but rounding out the top 20 schools are, in order from 11 to 20: Smith College, Brown University, Whitman College, Pomona College, Vanderbilt University, Emory University, Wheaton College (Ill.), Pennsylvania State University, Auburn University, and Macalester College.
According to the Princeton Review, the rankings are based on students’ responses to survey questions about “the beauty, safety, and location of their campus, their campus dorms and food, their ease in getting around the campus and in dealing with the administration, the friendliness of fellow students and interaction among different student types on campus, and their overall happiness.”
