In an interview with Australia’s Radio National, Stephen Gilchrist, curator of Indigenous Australian art at Dartmouth’s Hood Museum of Art, talks about “Crossing Cultures: The Owen and Wagner Collection of Contemporary Aboriginal Australian Art,” and his experience curating the exhibition, which is on view through March 10.
“It’s been really great to see Indigenous art through the eyes of people who have never encountered it before,” says Gilchrist, who is from Australia. “People love the honesty of the work.”
