On January 1, after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Senate’s budget bill, Bloomberg Television turned to David Blanchflower, the Bruce V. Rauner Professor of Economics at Dartmouth, for his analysis of the legislation.

“We’re going to have to deal with the debt ceiling in a couple of months and other issues, but thank goodness, the world breathes a sigh of relief,” Blanchflower tells Bloomberg Television. “I think in the end the president has won, but the question is how long for, and are they going to be able to sort out this debt ceiling within two months. That’s really the big deal.”
