Hanlon ’77 on January 11, 2013, Board Chair Steve Mandel ’78 told the crowd, “With a remarkable record of scholarship and research combined with leadership expertise and a profound commitment to teaching, he was truly everything we were looking for in a new president,” reports WCAX.
Hanlon, who will take office on June 10, 2013, spoke about his vision for Dartmouth as he addressed the crowd during his first public appearance. “We expect our graduates to be leaders who will not only engage in civil discourse and debate, but actually shape that debate and point the way forward,” he said.
