Happy Childhoods May Lead to Healthy Hearts (CBS News)

CBS News reports on a study by Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth researchers that suggests those whose childhoods were happy are less prone to heart disease.

Lead author Allison Appleton, research associate in community and family medicine, tells CBS that noticing a connection between a stressful home environment and cardiovascular health inspired her to look into positive health factors.

“What we didn’t know is, ‘What about positive and adaptive features of early life? Would they promote cardiovascular health?’” Appleton tells CBS.
