Geisel, who majored in English while an undergraduate at Dartmouth, holds the record among best-selling children’s book writers, American Public Media notes, and is famous for revolutionizing the way children learned to read with The Cat in the Hat and his many other books.
In April 2012, the Dartmouth Medical School was renamed The Audrey and Theodor Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, in honor of Audrey and Theodor Geisel.
